Clive Caseley

Specialist in: Marketing, business development, media relations, research. Background: Strategist and pragmatic PR, he has advised boards and directors through some of their most complex challenges. Clive is a former Marketing Director of national mental health charity MIND, and has also been a local authority Communications Director and an Executive Director of Arts Council England. Career highlight: Clive’s award-winning engagement and marketing programmes have enabled complex service transformation, reshaped organisational cultures, and laid the foundations for new institutions to be created through merger or acquisition. What drives me? ‘The opportunity to work with amazing leaders who are changing lives.’
Account Director

Alex Louis

Specialist in: Systems thinking and communications in the public sector space.

Background: Leading and managing communications, marketing and PR teams in local government, education, criminal justice and the NHS. Trained as a radio journalist, ran a small PR consultancy specialising in housing and voluntary sector. Freelance journalist, PRO.

Career highlight: Successfully and single-handed, managing over 20 national and regional media – including live interviews with the Home Secretary (after a prison riot broke out), at the first national conference on the future of multi-ethnic Britain, after being brought on board with 48 hours’ notice.

What drives me? I’m drawn towards the difficult, complex and complicated, believing strongly that it’s here we can find solutions.

Head of not-for-profit practice

Janice Muir

Specialist in:  Public relations, strategic stakeholder management, campaigning, media, crisis and communication management.

Background: Public Sector and Third Sector public relations and communication.

Career Highlights: Produced media strategy and directed the launch of a major new report on Malaria for the World Health Organisation. The report was covered extensively in the national and international media, achieving a global print and broadcast audience reach of more than 310 million, for a budget of US$20,000, and a PRWeek award for best PR campaign. Subsequently directed UK media relations for a further WHO report about anti-microbial resistance and achieved an overall international audience reach of more than 317 million worldwide.

What drives me? Change, music, bit of travel, sunshine and cars

Catherine Nester

Specialist in: Communications planning, media relations, internal communications, writing, editing

Background: Interim and consultancy experience in NHS acute trusts and clinical commissioning groups. Previously was a consultancy director and held senior in-house roles at the Wellcome Trust and British Red Cross

Career Highlight: seeing one of my projects win a CIPRInside award

What drives me?  I want to see that people have become engaged through the work I do. Communications should not be just about putting stuff out there, but about leading to action or change.

Research Director

Graham Kelly

Specialist in: Market and Social Research, including quantitative and qualitative methods.

Background: Previously Head of Social Research at BMRB (now TNS-BMRB), with 20 years’ experience in commercial research agencies, plus experience in local government, construction materials and with the Health Education Authority in the 1990s. Also active in the Community and Voluntary Sector.

Career highlight: Leading the teams conducting “world best” surveys to estimate the prevalence of child abuse and neglect, for the NSPCC in 1999, and again in 2009. They were very large studies, requiring exceptional planning and the development of unprecedented ethical protocols.

What drives me: I am a naturally curious person, and I love the challenge of designing research studies to meet the client’s objectives, then project managing the whole study through sampling, data collection, data analysis and delivery of findings.

Peter Gluckman

Specialist in: Trouble shooting and problem solving for top teams and organisations, board and senior team development, mentoring senior clinicians moving into management and newly appointed directors and charitable trustees on boards, service strategies and reviews, independent chairing of stakeholder engagement in complex change programmes, integration of health and social care, programmes for health improvement and reducing health inequalities.

Background: NHS, local government, development of charities including mergers, Director of Change fx Associates Limited

Career highlight: Creating and implementing the package that prevented an excellent hospice from becoming bankrupt and providing a secure base for its future

What drives me? Working with those confronting what they consider to be serious and even intractable difficulties to find effective ways to manage them and then to improve outcomes for patients, service users, carers and public.

Colin Beesting

Specialist in: Communications and engagement, public consultation, facilitation, change management, patient experience insight, brand development, marketing, mental health first aid training

Colin is also a qualified Mental Health First Aid instructor and leads our MHFA training course.

Background: Colin has twenty years’ experience in communications, engagement, marketing and change management in health, the public sector and cultural sector providing both operational delivery and strategic support and insight at senior levels in a range of regional and national organisations.

Debbie Ashford

Background: Debbie is an experienced communications and PR specialist with a proven track record of successfully devising and delivering communication plans and programmes to a range of audiences. She brings extensive expertise in local housing communications and resident engagement and communication.

Background: Paul brings over 15 years’ of management experience within the private sector. Working for large retail, trade and hospitality outlets he possesses a deep understanding of commercial drives and imperatives along with how to manage and implement those demands.

Paul is experienced in employee engagement and managing cultural change in a business. His success in the private sector was built around the ability to develop and disseminate key customer, client and staff engagement strategies and how to implement them at the core of a business. Paul is adept at taking top-line information and fashioning that narrative in to a workable system for his team.
