Europe’s largest regeneration project

March 4, 2019 By michaelharrod

Client challenge

For Europe’s largest regeneration project, we provided a comprehensive communications, media and event management service to the Thames Gateway London Partnership (TGLP) for five years. The brief involved successfully delivering a range of high profile events and a quarterly magazine, following a full communications review, including a review, rebrand, redesign and rewrite of their website.

The London economy remains central to the economic health of the rest of Britain. It is estimated that London contributes £9-12 billion a year to the rest of the UK through spending less in terms of public spending than it raises and pays in taxes. TGLP’s remit was to keep London going and growing. They achieved this by maintaining and improving London’s infrastructure to support its economic growth and the people who live here; attracting inward investment to increase the number of jobs available, providing opportunities for Londoners to increase their skills to stand the chance of getting a better job.

Our work

Thames Gateway London Partnership Renew magazine: We redesigned, produced (wrote, designed, printed and managed the direct mail distribution) and relaunched TGLP’s quarterly regeneration magazine Renew. Renew was direct mailed to over 3,000 stakeholders, including Ministers, MPs, regeneration agencies, private and public sector partners and community organisations within the Thames Gateway.

Facing the Future Seminar series: We produced a series of seminars under the banner of ‘Facing the Future’, providing members and partner organisations with the opportunity of hearing leading experts and to debate and discuss a range of issues within the context of regeneration in the Thames Gateway. These included subjects such as climate change, skills, transport, finance and the digital economy. Outcomes were then fed into the relevant workstreams to support policy and lobbying work. Verve managed every aspect of the seminars, including creating themes, sourcing appropriate specialist speakers, (including Government Ministers and other influential commentators such as Will Hutton and Tony Travers), designing and issuing invitations and supporting materials, filming and broadcasting and total event management on the day.
